In a society dominated by mass media and the virtual information technology, we must find a place where people can meet really, physically, and find the essence of communication and enjoyable dialogue.
At a time of very difficult work, social, civil, we must rediscover a place and a time to enjoy leisure, fun and carefree. Before the
Internet and mobile phones, favorite places to find friends and relatives, to talk and discuss, negotiate for goods and services, markets and fairs were organized for the squares and streets of towns and villages.
So why not seek out and recreate that same atmosphere? Why not revive and reorganize events, parties and festivals? Why not start by "our" Catignano and reassessment of resources, goods and means?
We can speak of a country such as abstract or concrete, such as administrative or geographical entity, but a country is above all the people who live it, you report the purpose, values, means that is established with the reality, with the places ever, with traditions, with the changes, with what is, in our case, deeply "catignanese.
And, with this spirit, born of the Festival Committee which this year offers three evenings of feast and redesigns, consistently renewed, the patron.
Then, the questions we posed and to which we tried to find a first answer are: how to encourage and excite the interest of all? How to involve and intrigue, attract and entertain? How reaffirm traditions and folklore of Catignano?
Tasting, singing and dancing under the stars is a symbolic definition!
We decided to renew amazement and surprise, play cards for good food, good wine, music, dances, songs, sounds and lights, in a magnificent setting of Piazza Marconi, which is dedicated to the festival for the evening and the streets for the whole country evenings devoted to the patron, to encourage everyone to join together by a common purpose: to find a wholesome joy and the joy of being together and having to give an image of our country between history and future, memories and expectations, and culture recreation. Catignano in a more lively flow of ideas, in the wake of the movements from other countries and regions, and submit to an independent reprocessing of the stimuli received in search of one of our personal identity for the first time this year we will try to achieve.
So a Catignano who wants to provide opportunities to attract and host, mixing tradition and innovation through events designed with the presumption of being able to meet the needs of all.
