- until December 6 to read chapters 1-5
- 6. December in class work in groups: 2-5 points for each group member

When Silvia was going home, crossed the Tiber Island bridge and saw couple.

the Tiber Island is a small island on the Tiber in Rome. It is between the district of Trastevere and the Ghetto. The length of the island is of about 270 m, and width of nearly 67 m at the widest point.

Island is famous because it was very important for the Roma . There are two bridges connected to the mainland. Thanks to the bridges which existed during the period of ancient Rome was easier to go to Rome. So the island was very important for Rome and still is.

The shape of our island Tiberina, is very similar to that of a boat. It is the boat-island!

Now there is an island called "San Bartolomeo island." Also there is a hospital Tiberina Island.

Many tourists are there to take pictures in front of the church or on bridges.

The people of Rome and throughout Italy love him very much. As always in Italian history is so that the island is famous, because it has many legends about how they did or how did the island.

We have heard that it is very important to visit this island, because in Rome there are many other popular attractions.

But we want to visit it once to tell a little.

Piazza Navona is one of the most famous and beautiful squares of Rome. Has the form (of a) of an ancient stadium. In fact, in the times of ancient Rome there was the stadium of Domitian, used for athletic competitions. The stadium was 275 meters long and 106 meters wide, and could accommodate 30,000 spectators. It was built in 85 AD.

In the nineteenth century the square was used for horse racing.

Today is the Brazilian embassy. There are many statues. There is also an obelisk, a church and the fountains of the masters of Baroque sculpture as Gian Lorenzo Bernini (the Fountain of the Four Rivers the center of the square, which is the Danube, the Ganges, the Nile and the River Plata, the four corners of the Earth ).

In Piazza Navona are many bars and shops. When it's a beautiful day many tourists are sitting on the edge of the fountain and eat ice cream. The children play football. When you go to Rome, you always want to go to Piazza Navona.

- The market of Porta Portese is very big and famous. There is nothing that can not be found. There's absolutely everything. When you search for new and used clothes, sandwiches with sausage and pork, tarot brands, old bicycles, motorcycle helmets, suitcases, bags, accessories house, plants, antiques, furniture, records, CDs, umbrellas, cut chicory, key chains, toys, cosmetics is the perfect place. Of course there are also many other things ..

The market is located just outside the Porta Portese. You can visit the market of Porta Portese from six to two, but only on Sundays.


- The Porta Portese market is very famous and great.

Here you will find everything that your heart wants! There are clothes, rolls, bags, CDs, cosmetics stalls etc.Le always open from 6:00 to 14:00. not only guests but also the vendors come from all over the world.

Looking for jeans? You have to pay only 10 Euro, they are really cheap. But you also have to be careful because there are thieves who want to steal your wallet!
